Need advice please

hi,
I applied for open work permit and it gets refused because they say there is employment restriction on my AINP certificate.I got a work permit support letter from province of Alberta which states that there is no employment restrictions.Last week , I applied again ,but this time for a closed work permit.I realized now that my nominee is already expired.Is it OK to apply again today for an open work permit.My current work permit will expire on the 7 th of may 2015(tomorrow)?
Is it OK to submit two applications?
one is application for closed work permit(I already did)
second is application for bridging open work permit(I will apply for it today)
I got a file number fro CIO.

Hi- why dont you go to the border since you are looking for a closed work permit.

I want to go to the border but: my temporary resident visa on the passport is expired .
Second, one of my friends went to the border but they gave him hard time: they told him why you came here......
what is your suggestion?
