alliekay333, seems like both of you have a healthy way of thinking and your expectations of each other are fine. the fact that you have the same religion as him is great, even if there are going to be cultural differences, religion is common. as others have said, don't marry on the first visit, get to know him first. from your posts, i don't see too much of a risk of marriage fraud (from his part). good luck!

CutiePie92, Thanks! :D

Yes they approved as per my knowledge.
They did not object on marriage, my wife living out side Canada from log time so they just ask my wife send us additional documents as proof that she intent to return after getting my PR.

Once again . . . we're THREE pages in and NO ONE has mentioned the processing VO involved. The forum member who keeps saying it's "no problem", was processed out of Manila. The OP's application will be processed where? Nigeria? It's gonna be a different ballgame ALL together. All the 'other' posts, pretty much agree.

SE Asia has as large an issue with marriages of convenience and document fraud as West Africa. There will be scrutiny given to the application, but if the relationship is as the OP decides, she has an excellent chance of succeeding. Instead of worrying about uncontrollable variables such as the fact that her boyfriend is Nigerian, she should think about the logistics of visits, documentation, and marriage.
