Navigating Where the hell do you track the application

Can someone explain this to me please.
For Spousal sponsor. There is the Permanent residency portal https://prson-srpel.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login (just shows that you submited)
There is the tracker: https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login (shows the updates, in aggregate)
and then there is the https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html ( which for the love of me cannot figure out how to link the application .. do i log in from my account and enter my UCI or my spouse should log in and enter her UCI... i tried all possible combination and it says cannot find application

Can someone please take the time and explain where do you see the detailed status (e.g. background started)?

The first one is where you submitted the application. You won't find anything here other than being able to download you application. (and supposedly an F12 trick to look up if you are close to AOR......)

The second is the relatively new PR Tracker. This is nice in that it can show you the last time you file was accessed by an agent.

The third option is GCKey. This will give you the breakdown you are looking for.

To link the application, how many people are you entering in the required field? It needs to be the number of people in the application plus 1. Also try leaving out middle names or adding them in, if any. Try with both the Primary Applicant and Sponsor's details.

If you try to comprehend the details of your application the only breakdown you can possibly get is a mental one.

Gckey became almost useless either showing all statuses as in progress right after AOR or publishing some arbitrary statuses as "not applicable" for god knows whatever reasons. It led to the formation of few cargo cults such as "Ghost Update witness" (there is even a dedicated thread where people share sightings reports) and predictions of the future based on the number of N/A statuses you got for your background check. They all share the same degree of certainty.

Prtracker isn't much better.

So it's better to just relax and enjoy the ride
