I was came to Canada in 1990 when I was 5 years old as a dependent child of my parents. In the Application to Sponsor and Undertaking (IMM 1344), it asks:

10. Are you a
Canadian citizen? [ ] No [ ] Yes > became a citizen on
Permanent resident? [ ] No [ ] Yes > became a permanent resident on

Do I put Yes for Canadian citizen and No for Permanent resident?

Also, do I put the number on my Canadian citizenship certificate for the "Record of landing/confirmation of permanent residence number"?

I'm a little confused about my situation. Since I came to Canada as a dependent child, does that mean I was a permanent resident from 1990 (when I arrived in Canada) to 1994 (when I got citizenship)? If so, is my PR information what I'm supposed to provide for questions 9 and 10 on the Sponsorship Questionnaire (IMM 5540)? This is a little worrisome as I obviously have no idea about this since I was a child, and I don't my parents will remember either.

Thank you so much for any advice!

well if you have a Canadian citizenship then that what you check and put the date you became a citizen. If you are a citizen you are no longer a permant resident right so ther you check no.

Hi
Did you go throught the citizen ceremony and you have a citizenship card rightand number then thats what you put.Once you become a citizen your permant residence is no longer valid you are a citizen.
Its just asking what you are if you are a citizen or a permanent resident
Its the same as when it asks are you a male or a female if you are male you check the male and leave the female blank right you dont check yes for male and no for female.
Its asking what you are if you were just a permant resident and not a citizen then you would chek the permant resident spot and leave the citizenship part blank.

So since you are a citizen you check citizen and leave the permant blank ok.

Check YES for Canadian Citizen > write the date of your citizenship
Check NO for Permanent Resident > leave that date blank
