Due to problems having last name initials while I was in Canada, I corrected my last name and expanded my full name from John D to John Doe(not disclosing real name) in in my new Indian passport after visiting India to see my parents. I have a valid visa and work permit with my old name, however I was not permitted to travel to Vancouver, Canada on 26th January, 2022 due to name discrepancies in visa, flight ticket and passport. I am working in Canada and really wish to go back and resolve the situation. Can you please advise what should be my course of action to update my work permit, canadian VISA and allow me to fly back to Canada and continue my job. As I already have a valid PGWP and only wish to expand my last name on my temporary resident documents, can I apply and get for a work permit at the port of entry in Canada showing my older valid documents and only carry a valid visitor visa with the new passport name for travelling to Canada? Not able to find any information online, submitted multiple webforms, no response. Has anyone had a similar situation? How long did it take to get it resolved?
