My wife is a Vietnamese citizen who has resided here in Canada for the last several years on study/work visas. We got married last year and are now coming to the final stage of her permanent residency application, the landing interview. Given that IRCC tends to be really inaccessible, I'm thinking that the landing interview may be an opportunity to bring up an issue with her record that I've considered a bit of an inconvenience. Her Vietnamese passport displays her name as LASTNAME MIDDLENAME FIRSTNAME, versus the Canadian passport representation of LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME MIDDLENAME, and I've noticed that this has resulted in her first and middle names being backwards on all her documentation. Every other agency considers IRCC to be the source they use for her information so this error affects her driver's license, bank cards, and anything else with her name on it. I'm wondering if anybody has any guidance on whether or not this would be a relatively easy fix at the landing interview or if I'm opening us up to delays and complications if I bring it up.

You can ask. If they can't do anything, it won't cause delays or complications.

Hi, I am Vietnamese/Canadian and i have the same issue with your wife. For sure that it will not affect your wife’s identification though.
