Hi,

I have a query - seeking help from somebody who might know or has faced a similar situation.

My first name is Mohammed. But in my certificates the name Mohammed has been written as Mohd. Which is a regular practice back home. How do I satisfy CIC that both are the same person but differnt representation.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had similar issue. I used the way it is in the official documents. I have it same e'where (certificates, passport or other documents). So I just used the same name.
What are the documents where your first name is written as "Mohammed"?

mmkhan,

You could get an affidavit indicating all of your names, and stating that you are the same person, and get it notarized.

There's space on the form to write in other names used, no affidavit required. It is question #2 in the principal applicant's personal details on the General Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008).
Just fill that section in with the first name Moh'd and your last name.

I've done this myself over the years with CIC and never had an issue.

Me too have same quarries. My name in all documents is dilipsinh but in one company's job appoint letter it is written only dilip. What should I do.

Same thing I recommended above. The general application form (imm 0008) gives you the chance to provide CIC with any other names that you use. In your case, your name is Dilipsinh and another name that you have used is Dilip. You would only need an affidavit if the two names were completely different. In this case it is clear that Dilip is a short form of your full name.
