Hi,

I would like to apply for PR under Provincial Nominee Program (Masters graduate)

I have a question with regard to my name on my new passport. In my old passport my first name is "Md." which I used until August 2013. In the new
passport (Machine Readable Passport), I had to change my first name to "Mohammad" according to the requirement of new passport rules/requirements. Please note that "Mohammad" is long form of previous "Md.".

My question is which name I should use in my PNP application form. Since this change has been made recently, all my other documents, for instance, degree certficate/Bank statement contain my old format first name which is "Md.". Please note that I will submit both of my passport photocopy since old passport contains all the immigration information.

Thank you,
Mustafiz

Hi there
I had almost same problem. You have 2 options
1.Write CIC explanation letter about change in your name and reasons why it happened OR
2.Write a letter to your passport department asking them to keep your old name due to having bank accounts opened abroad, due to some immigration reasons, due to some other significant reasons, think about it...

I used option #2 and now I am about to get my PPR..

Good luck!
