Name change after Oath

Hi guys,

I was planning to change my name to include my surname to my official name.
I have all the paperwork ready and just need to sign in front of the Commissioner of Oaths here in Ontario.

I was planning to wait till my oath was done before I initiated the change of name process.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this?

I was wondering if I should wait till I receive my citizenship certificate before applying for a name change? I was planning to not wait for the certificate and just apply for a name change directly the next day.

Wondering if there are any pros and cons here?

I don't need a passport and probably will apply with the new name when the name change is approved...

Hello Gopal, I am in same boat. Could you please guide me what documenta are required for name change in Alberta? I was born in India and all my documents birth certificate, passport, PR card has old name which I want to change. My citizenship oath is next week.
