Nairobi CHC is opened I also tried to call them yesterday from my cellphone and a woman came up on the phone so I had to hung up because I did not have anything to ask to her. Lol but they are open which is a good thing. Hopefully they will contact you as soon as possible.

Canadian High Commission in Nairobi can be quiet, but they are working. If you think it is taking too long, send them an email. But do not send one and another shortly afterwards.

In the meantime, I have a question: My wife, a Canadian PR has sponsored me from within Canada. I'm also in Canada on visitor visa, but consider that it will take a shorter time to get PR with outland application (inside Canada it takes a whole year just for initial assessment). Would you advise me to withdraw this application and file another when I'm in Kenya?

Hi I'm new to this forum but all the posts are really encouraging. I was just wondering about 2 things:

1- When do the medicals received show up? Right now on E-CAS, we're in stage 2 so basically sponsorship has been approved and the file was transferred to Nairobi but it just shows "Decision Made" on the sponsor section and "Application Received" on the sponsored section..

2- Does Nairobi ever let you know that they received the file or after CPC-Mississauga sends you an email saying you've been approved as a sponsor there's no communication till passport request?

Its a relief to know that our VO is open and working after the westgate incident.
Becuase my interview was cancelled due to the same incident and they called to inform me that another date would be set in October. Now am waiting eagerly for each day and pray that soon they remember me. The waiting is really pulling us low with my hubby. Dear lord let October bring good news to all of us still waiting.

1) If you or the sponsored person has done the medicals and submitted to the VO (Nairobi High Commission), they will be matched up with the file transferred from CPC-M, and it'll show under sponsored person 'medicals received' on ECAS.

2) I'm not sure about that one as we've never received any communication from Nairobi although under sponsored it says - application received, and medicals received. Perhaps those who have gone beyond this stage can tell us their experience with Nairobi office...whether the CPC-M email is sufficient acknowledgement. I also understand that the sponsored person receives a different UCI# which comes from the VO.

Hey thanks for the reply, we sent the application in August, Got SA in September and file transferred that day but till now, it doesn't show that the medicals have been received. I'm not sure if I should be worried - My husband did his medicals in July and I read somewhere on this forum, that Nairobi sends them to England and it takes 3 months so I would think maybe next month it might show up on ECAS .. no idea..

Hello everyone,

I`ve been silence for a while, dealing with shipping my stuff to Canada, cancel my UAE visa and now i`m finally back home in Tanzania for two weeks and then i`ll be joining my husband at the first week of November. I just hope everything goes well for each and everyone of you. Its really a tough process and with the incident that happened in Nairobi, it delayed other plans for lot of you but God is good, sometimes things happen and we have no control of. Only God knows we all want to be with our spouses and for sure, he`ll make it happen so please hang in there. I`m hoping before November ends, some of you will get good news and everything will get back on track.

I wish you all the best and remember everything has its beginning and end so this will end soon.

Lets be optimistic .. no news is good news and they probably are working on the applications.. I think probably a bit of a backlog with the nbi incident.... from what I've read on this forum, looks like the last one to get their sponsorship approved applied in March - so possibly April/May applicants are next?
