MyCIC Steps - What do they mean?

These are the steps I pulled from MyCIC about my application. It has just been opened and an application number has been assigned.

Which step is the AOR1, the AOR2 and SA?

Where is this application?

Application/profile status
Review of eligibility
Review of medical results
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview
A background check is needed
Final decision

Also, if an application number has been assigned does that mean they are working on it or it's just been registered in the system and is sitting in the pile of applications?

your application was just submitted. therefore your application is technically only opened so far and is pre-step at this pont. if the list you quoted is under the applicant's information, then it will be sometime before any of that changes. the only things that *may* change before the app is sent to the visa office is acknowledgement of your medical results. your next step will be an AOR sent to the sponsor confirming the application is received and complete, then a sponsor approval letter sent to the sponsor confirming which visa office the application is sent to.

while i'm not really familiar with the new mycic page, to me those lines don't suggest an aor or sa. those suggest the file is under review and is being processed, which happens AFTER aor1, sa and aor2.

So I guess this status page will just be updated as the application goes through the process regardless of if it is in Mississauga or the VO.
