i married my vietnamese wife 1 year ago in hcmc(by common family approval). marriage was finally registered in early july.
i registered her early this year as joint 50% owner of $1 million in cdn residential property. and joint 50% owner of cdn corp with $1.8 million in cash trust. my 91 year old mother had severe stroke few weeks ago. her vn culture drives her to meet and be approved by my mother. her planned visit was an emergency, re my mother. we have not decided yet if i should move to vn or her to canada, but i was leaning to vn living.
my wife was rejected re asset proof?? and rule 179 etc.
documents provided ncluded appraisals of properties, title registrations, corporation registrations, trust fund amounts by lawyer, etc. everything was kosher.
this is totally ridiculous. now we must apply for her to move here permanently, despite her not sure about moving here. i checked with lawyer tonight. appeal can only go to fed court with 2 year timing to be heard. judge usually rules in fed favour.
interesting that in mid 2009 i visited cnn consulate in hcmc for advice on marrying my wife. they provided me with 2 full pages of requirements(by vn justice). after 8 months of hell, and 1 expensive flight to ottawa from edmt, and 2 to hcmc, hcmc justice asked me why i brought so many documents(15), only 3 simple documents were required.
the cic office in hcmc at metropolitan bldg has triple locked solid steel doors, bullet proof 1 inch glass, guard, x-ray machine , etc. i now see why.
she first went to cic, they told her they do not do these things, told her to go to iom, fee for mult visit visa was $150. they prefer $usd, will take $cdn as last resort.
if you want something copied and notarized, fee is $55 usd per page. cnd lawyers do not charge for this.
is this part of chancellor harpers "get tough on others" program? he should look at his background.
i am sitting here, carving tiny crosses in my poison laced arrows, drowning myself in single malt. any ideas??

i am now sitting here, drowning myself in single malt, carving tiny crosses in my poison laced bullets and considering my move to vietnam. any ideas beside ?????
