the landing procedure itself is about 10-15 minutes. how long it takes depends on how long of a line there is when she arrives. the cbsa officer will ask her the questions written on the COPR, both parties will sign/initial the document, and they will confirm the canadian address to send the PR card to. it is very simple and painless. all she needs is her COPR and passport. if she plans on declaring a large amount of items, then she needs to fill out the BSF form for declaring goods. after she lands, they will assist her with declaring her goods.

Thanks for the info. So let me get this straight, the COPR is that piece of paper returned with her stamped photo?

yes, the COPR is the approval paper. it is the confirmation of permanent resident. this will have her picture on it, and 2 copies will be returned with her stamped passport. the counterfoil stamp is in the passport, not the COPR. CBSA will keep 1 copy of the COPR and they will staple her copy to her passport. she will need this piece of paper to prove her status until her actual pr card arrives. She will use the COPR and her passport to get her sin# and any immigrant services she's interested in. depending on which province you live in, it can be used when applying for healthcare as well.

Thanks a bunch for the thorough clarification.
