Hi everyone,
I am a student at Humber College.
I graduated EAP level 8 in June 2017; however, my main course ECE will start in January 2018 so I decided to leave Canada in July 26th 2017. I came back to Canada in October 26th 2017 to prepare for requirement documents which is needed for my program because it took more than 2 months to complete them before my program starts.
Before the strike, my start date was Jan 8th 2018 so my gap time from Oct 26th 2017 to Jan 8th 2018 was just more than 2 months which made me legally stayed in Canada. However, the start date changed because of the strike’s effect ( from Jan 8th to Jan 29th) which made me become legal. My gap time is now over 90 days. Moreover, I read on CIC website that my study permit would be expired automatically after 3 months if I did not attend any programs. It makes me worried and confused a lot.
Could anyone please let me know whether my study permit is still valid or not and what I should do in my situation?
Thanks a lot.
