After 7 months of research/paperwork/collecting documents and filling them out, we put the Permanent Residency application in the mail yesterday.

Now for the long wait -- 8-12 months ?? Keep your fingers crossed, peeps!

We sent ours off on Monday.....its still in transit (UPS) to Canada

Congratulations!

Did you make sure that you submitted the latest versions of all the forms?!?!?!
CIC has a tendency of updating the forms, fairly regularly...but don't bother to tell anyone here that they've done so. LOL!

Seriously, many people have submitted forms that are outdated, because they saved the form(s) to their computer (or printed it out) months ago.

If you find that you have submitted an old form ( or perhaps more than one), it's possible that your entire application could be returned. :(
It all depends on the Visa Officer that handles your case and what his/her mood is when they open your application. Some people are asked to provide the updated form(s), while others have in fact had their entire application returned.

Pretty harsh, eh?

Good luck!

Totally true......thankfully my wife and I realised about that pretty early......and that's why the forms were the very last things we completed..... ;)

Yes, I checked the site for new forms before we printed everything out.

Thank you all! :D

Best of luck!
