Dear Friends,
I observed, my background status changed from "We received your application the next step is to conduct background check" to "Not Applicable".

What is the significance of this status and what will be the nest step? Need your help to understand.

Regards
Alok

It means that you are close to having PPR. Are you CEC, FSW, or PNP?
They say the pattern of our BGS = NA-NS-NA-IP-PPR

I am in India and applied under FSW program, any tentative months or timelines to get PPR from now onwards

Yes you are close to having PPR! Your file is just piled up with other similar files. I suggest you send a query to your VO about this. My friend was in a similar situation as yours. When he sent a query to VO, his BG was instantly changed to "In process".

I'm in the same boat. I'm outside Canada and FSW.
Send your query to VO. Things will speed up!

:o I have BG = Not Applicable also, but Medical Check has not even passed
Why medical isn't passed? Contact your physician about this. By the way, your physician may take up to 2 weeks to submit your results.

are you sure that it is close to getting a PPR? I forgot what my previous status was under "background check" but currently I have the same status "background check:not applicable". Also, my medicals hasn't passed yet. I am confused.

How to send query to VO?
Search for your VO at cic.gc.ca. If you can't find it, simply send a query from your online account.
When my medicals were passed, I asked the VO about the next step. They said that they are having some BG checks, and would tell me afterwards. But I applied under non EE (before Jan 2015), when things were not as quick as they are now.
But I believe that your file will move when you send a query online, as my friend did and instantly, his BG check status changed to "In Process".

Yes it is close to PPR. After BG not applicable, its just a matter of time to change it to "In Process". About medicals, contact your physician why they haven't yet sent the results. Also, ask them whether your medical is clear or not.

But my medicals has not passed yet. And I don't know since when my status was "background check : not applicable". And how could my background check will change to "in progress" if it's not applicable? So confused.

In my e-medical certificate, it says that "your emedical case has been submitted to IRCC."

also, any further queries about your visa application and/or your health examination results should be directed to your IRCC visa officer. Staff at a panel clinic will not be able to help you with these queries.
