Hi All,

I made the refugee claim with family inland , below is the timeline

1. AOC Received: 26 april 2024
2. Medical Request: 9 may 2024
3. Medical Passed: 9 may 2024
4. First Hearing, Docs Seizure and Issued Work Permit: 20 may 2024
5. Background check completed 8 August 2024

I believe I only left with Final Hearing right? Any approximate date for the final hearing? My case was submitted from Edmonton and my lawyer is from Toronto, i have no access to BOC...
What should i expect further or what should I do now?

How did you know that your background is completed? Do you have the access to view your case application from your lawyer?

Hi All,

I made the refugee claim, below is the timeline

1. AOC Received: 9 June 2024
2. Medical Request: 9 June 2024
3. Medical Passed: 26 June 2024
4. First Hearing, Docs Seizure and Issued Work Permit: 16 July 2024

I believe I only left with Final Hearing right? Any approximate date for the final hearing? My case was submitted when I was in Alberta. Now, I moved to BC and updated my address accordingly.
Are you getting the Hearing Date already? When it will be?

I got confused, is there second eligibility interview ? I thought there’s only one eligibility interview. I went for first eligibility interview and no question was asked. Soon after I left the office, I got letter that my case is referred to IRB.

There are two interviews. The second is where they assess your refugee claim to determine if you will be approved and accepted as a protected person.

Hi, Congratulations.

could you kindly share your timeline and your experience in the hearing. Do you know why your hearing took 1.5 hours since most hearings take half a day.

Thanks

Cases are typically assessed as needing different lengths of hearings.

Hello Members,

I would like to clarify something. Currently, I am living in BC and my case has been processing almost a year. Now if I move to Alberta, the process will start from the beginning again or delay?

Same question from my side as well, planning on moving to Sask, but not sure if the processing will start from scratch.

Not it will not start from scratch. If there is a delay is will do so insignificant you won’t notice.
