Being impatient is one of the reasons. The other one is immigration policies of the current administration of the US scares me as I mentioned before. US is not a safe country in practice now.

Given the irregular crossing there is also a change in opinion by many Canadians. I would personally wait to see what happens in the US. Are you working? Have you looked to see if you qualify for economic immigration to Canada? That would be a much faster and certain route.
