I'd say MSc is better in general, and it's more demanding than MEng. It requires some research for MSc to be done in the academic setting. Also, you can continue towards PhD afterwards. MEng is solely based on a coursework + optional internship (sometimes). Unlike MSc it's rather a professional than academic degree type.
 
Just to add a point on what Ievgen said, MSc is usually funded since it involves doing a research while MEng is not funded and expenses are usually shouldered entirely by the student.

In deciding, consider the reason why your doing a masters, your academic and research interests as well as your future plans and personal preparedness since MSc is more demanding compared to MEng.

thank you both Ievgen and DocRZ for ur input ...i am thinking of MEng as i do not want to go into research.
