Hello friends,

My son is studying in Alberta and my brother who is living in Alberta for 2 years. My cousin who is in Winnipeg, willing to sponsor me. I applied for MPNP in 2011 but received refusal stating that I don't have strong ties to Manitoba. Is it recommendable to apply again. I am willing to stay in Manitoba. How can I prove? Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

From experience of few people I know, MPNP is very sensitive to persons who have ties with other provinces.

Having brother in Alberta you have very low chances.

Yeah, your chances are slim.

If you son and brother are both in Manitoba and cousin in Alberta, that I believed would have strenghten your case.

Having a stronger connection to other province can solely be a ground for refusal. Sad but it's their rule.

But, there are also other applicants who successfully got their approvals even if they have close relatives to other province. If you are really willing and eager to re-apply then you may do so. Maybe by re applying they may consider your application and do further assessment to make sure of your genuine intention to stay in Manitoba. This can be by interviewing you as the applicant as well as the sponsor.

Good luck
