Hello all.

My name is Ketan. I live in Manitoba, sponsored my sister for MPNP last year. The timeline is as below :

Applied for MPNP : May 2015
EOI received : August 2015
EOI Submitted : 05 September 2015
Sponsor received email for Settlement plan part 2 : 08 September 2015
Sponsor returned Settlement plan part 2 : 12 September 2015
MPNP asked for an additional document : October 2015. Document provided to MPNP : October 2015
MPNP status changed to Assessment pending : End of October 2015
Sponsor (I) received a call from MPNP case worker : February 23 2016 Call lasted for 18 minutes.

The case worker asked for additional written info(by email) about work.(Nothing major).

When I asked about the next steps in the process. He said he will take a decision after he received an info in email that he requested. And then he will get supervisor to check the decision and email the decision letter to my sister. He did not mention about a phone call to my sister?

My question is to all of you experienced guys is : Does an applicant always get a a phone call from MPNP officer? or they don't call applicant sometimes?

Hi Ketan,
Your sister's timeline is the same same day of mine. MPNP will not always call applicant, that's random.
Please show me, how to check my status in MPNP website ?
Thanks a lot !

Hello House, Please i need clarification on this issue. My brother is on a student visa in Manitoba(living in Manitoba for over 2 years now). He has also received an ITA and submitted an application for the Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program. My question now is, Can i apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program once he receives his PR or i need to wait for a year after his PR to apply for the MPNP. Please advice...

Hello Ketan,

After reading your post regarding your sister sponsor for MPNP, I am writing this to ask few questions regarding MPNP. I am moving to MB with a plan to spend a year and then to sponsor my brother. I am wondering what your experience was while sponsoring your sister, i.e., do you think just living a year is enough someone to be eligible to sponsor or case worker also look the type of job person doing in MB, living alone or with family and other things. I have seen people whose family residing in other province and they only spend some time in MB for sponsorship like they will get health card and driving licence and possibly lease agreement for a property in MB. So I am asking what specific documents you provided to establish connection to MB and proof of residency that you spent a year, etc. I would greatly appreciate if we can talk on the phone so that I can make my plans accordingly since I have taken a big decision of moving from AB to MB possibly next month; however, would like to know the all possibilities before I move there just don't want to waste my time that may disqualify me to sponsor. My no is 780-709-0747 or send me your no and I can call you. thank you very much

Hi All,

I have a question too.. if someone can answer...

Does NOC play an imporatant par in MPNP application approval..
as my NOC is not very popular one.. and have limited scope in mannitoba...

can i be rejected for that even if I have a close relative in Mannitoba..

Hi rahul1404!

In my opinion, no. I believe that what matters is your score and as long as your profession is not one of the following, then you'll be included in the next draws!

•Registered Nurses
•Secondary and Elementary School Teachers
•Vocational and College Instructors
•University Professors
•General and Specialist Physicians

Good luck!
