I had a question about Jobs in Winnipeg. Does anybody here know any resources or websites where I can find out about jobs, markets etc?
And also, if anyone from the Software engineering field could help me out with their experiences or contacts, i would really appreciate it.

hi everyone

anyone who sent completed application to CIO ,,plz tell me about the photocopies attestation ...i m bit confused reading the below statement in application Guide :::which says

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature

did anyone followed that??????

It's basically a notary.
Someone who is authorized by the government of your country to check documents and notarize them stating that they are indeed what you say they are.
Like, if your birth certificate is in Urdu for example.(Since your name and picture flag seems to be from Pakistan, so I'll go with Urdu). You'll need that translated to English or French, and the person doing the Notary should verify that everything in the translation is the same as the original and Sign it etc etc.
This mostly just applies to documents that are not originally in English or French (According to the Step 1 of the Guide at "http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EP7TOC.asp").
I submitted my application without any notaries, because all of my documents were already in english and It was fine.
I think if you read the "STEP 1" from the Guide again, it'll be much clearer.
Let me know if you need anything specific that I can help you with and I'll try to answer your question. I submitted my application this January so it' still pretty fresh in my memory :D.

Got my UCI today.....

That's great news, congrats

Please kindly put down your timeline on the left pane

Hello,

1. How long does it take from when i receive the UCI number until my info appears on the CIC application status?

Joe

After I got mine, I checked the very next day, and it wasn't updated.
I didn't check for another 5-7 days, and when I checked after that, It was updated.
So i would say, anything in between that duration.
