It really depends if you want to. The expiry of your visa to Canada will be a year from the time your ECAS status announces Medicals Received. So, for instance, your MR is to arrive this month and it was date received at: 15 March 2014, then your visa will expire on 15 March 2015. Which gives enough time for you to land in Canada.

Just bear in mind, not to extend too much in deciding when to land, because some airports will not allow you to leave the country with only 6 months (like in the Philippines) validity on your passport, some allow upto 3 months. But if you plan to leave as soon as you receive your visa, then there is no need for you renew your passport. And some airports will allow you to leave even if it is valid for less than 6 months because you have a permanent resident visa anyway.

The choice is up to you. If you want to renew, there is no need to inform CIC or the embassy, you will receive a form with PPR which you will have to fill in. Just fill in your new passport details there. It's what I did when they requested for my passport (and I renewed it before submitting it to the embassy).

...hth

I understand..
I'll take note of that..
Thanks tabs179!

Hey Jendayi,

I'm MPNP but have sent my PR forms off to CIC, my Credit Card got charged a few days ago but still waiting for AOR.

I'm fairly sure they send it by email but just making sure. Have you got yours already?

Kindly share your CIO Timeline so I could include it in the Tracking Sheet for Batch 2013. Click the link to view and to know the information needed. There is "another" tab for CIO Application.

Hi Boogler,

Yes, they'll be sending the AOR via email. I got my AOR email about a month after I sent my application to NS. You can check the spreadsheet clarence is efficiently updating to check the average turnaround time :)

Dear

I know it.
But there is not an option for knowing about timetaken for file transfer from NOVA SCOTIA to VISA OFFICE.

Hello,

Thank you.

Re NS to VO file transfer, I do not actually know exactly when NS sent it to VO.
All I remember is that I got an AOR from NS. After about 3 weeks, I got the MR from VO. So the file transfer was somewhere in between.

Clarence is right, you can just check the timeline of everyone in the spreadsheet to get an idea of the turnaround time.

Hope this helps.

I thought it was a first 60 people at PDOS? They already have pre-registration?

Hi tabs,

http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1799:for-filipinos-leaving-the-country-with-an-immigrant-visa&catid=139:pre-departure-orientation-seminar

There is a link for the pre-registration. I think you can pre-register to save time on the manual inputting of data but seminar is still on a first-come, first-served basis. Will also try to do this later.

Thanks for the link.

I just read it and it states that no registration is required for CFO PDOS (which is ours, right?)

The pre-registration online are for OFWs.

Don't worry about declaring your property in MPNP on top of your sufficient Proof of Funds (well, since you've already done this). They might only ask you to update them with your finances by requiring you to give them Bank Certificate with history, no need for property documents in the later stage because they are after your ready cash available for migration. In my experience, I was asked to provide only Bank Cert w/ history right before releasing LOA.

tnx for the info simplyblessed
