Hello All,

I would just like to ask what would be the Requirements for someone to be able to sponsor a friend to go to Manitoba?
I know that he have to be a PR or Citizen min. for a year. Does he have to be earning a specific amount before he can sponsor? My wife has a friend in Winnipeg working in min. salary who is willing to help.

thank you in advance. :D

They required my uncle to have a permanent job, one year minimum PR or already a citizen. Copies of Payslips, Health Card, PR Card/ Passport and Settlement Plan2 were asked from my uncle.

My uncle had to demonstrate his relationship with me, how long have we known each other, and what are his plans to help me as the applicant to immigrate successfully in Manitoba.

Here is the actual Settlement Plan 2: http://www.immigratemanitoba.com/asset_library/2012/11/mpnp-manitoba-immigration-settlement-plan-2.pdf

What I did was filled in the Settlement Plan 1, sent a copy to my uncle and he reviewed it first before he filled in Settlement Plan 2. So that, both our answers are linked. Then I asked him to send me a copy of the SP2 filled by him. So that I can check his answers (he isn't computer savvy, LoL)

As I already have a copy of his SP2, I submitted it already with my online application (together with his documents that I already have). The immigration officer didn't contact him anymore until the sponsor interview.

It seems you have enough points in getting nominated, but there is really no guarantee. All applications are of different cases. Additionally, MPNP has changed the requirements and processing method.

Before this new system, online applications usually take 6 months on average. Again, all applications are of different cases. It really depends on the immigration officer.

Good Luck!

Thanks tabs. That's what I'm thinking too. Though we have accumulated enough points, there are still chances that we might not be nominated. I'm crossing my fingers though, for a positive result. :)

Hi LemonLuv!

Just want to answer your 2nd question...

"Another one:
We are about to submit our application online but we have encountered this error upon review of our documents. it requires us to also attach our HS transcripts, wala naman po akong hold na ganun kc po, na surrender na upon enrollment nung college."

You can request from your HS registrar the Form 137-A, that is your HS Permanent Record.

Good luck!

Thanks po. We did that and we have already submitted our application last October 16, 2013 and we also have our file number already. currently we are just waiting for my aunt to send her SP2.

I don't know what Stream it is because we were not asked whether it was GS or FS when we applied online. But IMO it's FS because I have an aunt (Sister of my dad) in Winnipeg and she's the one to sponsor our Settlement Plan.

I think your on Family Stream.

To be considered a close relatives your relationship to the applicant (or spouse) must be one of the following:

sister or brother
aunt or uncle
niece or nephew
mother or father
grandmother or grandfather
first cousin
That is, a child of your aunt or uncle.
