need urgent advise. Please help.


my mpnp supporter has known me for 1 month only (although we have common roots back in our home country in terms of similar province, same religious community etc), will that be a problem (he knowing me for only 1 month).

the MPNP supporter has been living in winnipeg for the last 10 years and is very well qualified and working for a leading telecom company in a senior job.

hi everyone! I received a note from my sponsor that there is a new guideline for MPNP. if the applicant has satisfied the money needed, there is no need to submit SP2.

i'm not sure if this has been implemented for those who already received the notice for SP2, but most probably apply to the new applicants.

this is great since it will cut the timeline even shorter. =)

I highly doubt this claim. Settlement plan is not about the money but more of adaptation and integration steps for both applicant and supporter. Settlement plan 2 is very crucial, they will reject your application if your supporter did not submit it. Try to read the assessment part in their website.

I think there is a question in Settlement plan in which they will ask you to describe your relationship to your supporter (vice versa), for how long you have met and communicate and among others. This question is crucial because MPNP is assessing the connection between the two of you. If they find out that the connection is weak they will refuse it. Moreover, it is under their grounds for refusal.

So yes, it will be a problem. This is my opinion but it is based on facts listed in their website.

Hi Khilav,

All I can say is the Basic Minimum requirement would do. Adding more documents sometimes draw more questions than answers. So to be safe, if I am the Sponsor, Id rather comply the Basic documentation required from me.

Him being your Sponsor, demonstrates that you have a Connection in Manitoba. Your Settlement funds will on the otherhand demonstrate that you can settle in Manitoba without accessing Support from Govt funds.

Please be reminded that in the SP2, item no. 6. Declaration and Authorization, section D. It states that: "I am satisfied that the applicant has the ability to meet the own Basic Needs, etc... "

Hello Jaspal!

I think its a YES and a NO...

Yes, you can declare him as your Sponsor but most likely your Points in this item will be a Little bit low.

No, as your Sponsor will be your Connection to Manitoba and this is only one criteria... your Settlement funds will Count most among others in Terms of your smooth settlement in the province. Kindly ensure that your Settlement funds are more than enough...

I wish you can still find a Sponsor whom u are acquainted with for at least a year or more... or better yet if you can wait for some few months before you submit your application, like... to make it 6 months.

I didnt find anything anywhere yet regarding the length of time required for the applicant and the Sponsor to be acquainted with each other. Its not mentioned in the Sponsor Basic requirementfor someone to Sponsor an applicant.

So I must say, weigh everything before you make the decision to click sumbit now...

ah okay, no harm if it's not true... MPNP will always instruct applicants of the process.
