Moving to the US, right after applying for Canadian citizenship

Hello all!
I know this question had been posted at least once before, but apparently the situation was different from mine, and I think it was before Bill C-6.

I'm working for a US-based company and I'd like to move to their US office for a couple of years. They will be applying L1b for me and once I get there I'll apply for US Green Card.

I'm going to apply for my citizenship in December and my wife is going to apply for hers in May.

Is it ok to move to the US before becoming citizen? like in June? Do I need to live in Canada at the time of interview? Are they going to ask me about my "intention of residence"? Are they going to recalculate the time I was in Canada at the time of interview? is it probable that it becomes an issue? If we apply for Green Card can it become an issue?

Thanks!

No, I believe it should be fine. There is no "intent to reside" clause anymore so it should be allowed. With that said, it is very possible that IRCC will question you about it and give you a bit of a hard time. Perhaps scrutinize your application more closely (especially your residency days). Maybe even give you an RQ, which can delay things. But in the end, it should be ok (assuming there are no other red flags)

The intent to reside stipulation is gone since C6 but IRCC may not be happy that you are applying for citizenship and moving away at the same time. They may make you life a little more difficult.

Also, note that for the entire duration of processing, you must maintain your PR RO. If you and your wife move for good in June and both you and your wife's application drags on in processing because of RQs and such, be aware that it is possible that you will no longer meet your PR RO. I would imagine that it would have to drag on for a really long time since Citizenship RO requires much more days then PR RO but still something to keep in mind.
