Hi all,

Can somebody fill me in how I can switch employers under a closed visa. If I got a positive LMO and was granted a work permit to work with one employer and subsequently moved jobs under the same NOC code, is this a difficult procedure. My immigration lawyer told me it would involve make some sort of application to to simply switch employers but I have heard conflicting stories on this.

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Your new employer needs to obtain a new LMO. Once that new LMO is approved, you must then apply for a new closed work permit. Once the new work permit is approved, you can start working for the new employer.

Sounds like a bit of a disaster then... Not an appealing situation for a new employer really and I can't see my current employer playing ball if they get wind of my new LMO! Thanks for the response.

You don't have a choice. If your present employer finds out, there is an excellent chance that s/he will send you down the road.
