Hello there!

So I am trying to move over into Canada, most likely through a work visa. I have a daughter who is just about to turn 2. I have full custody, her father has nothing to do with her. He isn't even on the birth certificate. My question is, what process or what paperwork do I need to be able to have her move with me? I read at one point in my research that he would still need to provide a letter stating that as her biological father, he allows her to move with me into the country. Please clarify for me so I can move forward with what needs to be done,

First off, how exactly do you intend to get a work visa to Canada? There are very few ways US citizens can qualify for working in Canada:
- under a working holiday SWAP visa, for recent graduates only
- if job qualifies under NAFTA and you have relevant education/work experience
- if an employer successfully goes though long and costly LMIA process to hire you

For your daughter, as long as you can get a court or some official paper stating you have full legal custody, that would suffice.
