Hello Guys,
When my mom was born way back in the Philippines the year 1956, She was named by her parents of
First Name: Angelita
Middle Name: Mariano
Last Name: Rivera
During that time they asked favor to relatives to go to town to have it registered in the Statistics office and when her birth certificate came out, it end up like this.
First Name: Maria
Second Name: Angela
Middle Name: Marian
Last Name: Rivera
Since it's not that strict before, she managed to used her right name, everything on her document, social security, Governments ID's and company ID's. she used Angelita Mariano Rivera and there's no problem on it ever since.
She hired an attorney couple of months ago to have it fixed, and now it is ok and updated on the statistics office and approved by the law.
They never changed the birth certificate details, it's just a note at the bottom of the birth certificate that she had legally changed name.
She went to travel abroad 2 years ago but the issued passport name is based on her wrong name on birth certificate (that's the only time she used that, just once) and now she got her new passport stating the original name, Updated name on her birth certificate.
We are planning to sponsor her to canada but before that, She is going to apply for a tourist visa first.
What documents we need to provide in this kind of situation aside from the updated birth certificate?
Can she do the Explanation letter as well?
Thank you
