i think he means the countdown starts with moscow receiving the prv application

I read somewhere (I can not find it back)where it was explained that the counting starts at the date the application has been received at the visa office, that is 8 months from application received in Moscow, thus not from starting processing.

Yes, absolutely, counting starts when they receive the application. The web site says 8 months, but a more recent press release said 9.4 months to complete 80% of applications.

Thanks a million guys for the informative infos... I have got the CSQ(Quebec only) for my wife and the MICC(Immigration Quebec) told me that they have also send a copy to the visa office in Moscow. I have also send a copy through fax personally. Now it's almost one month that the e-cas doesn't say anything of getting it... I am worried abit. Unless Quebec has send it through regular mail or Moscow visa office is too lazy to put in the info on e-cas... If they start counting the 8 months time only after AOR then I should be relaxed and just wait now.... Good Luck All!

After sending letter to embassy last night....WE GOT OUR VISA!!!

Looks like they made a mistake. We're organizing everything for her to get visa, give work notice and get her butt over here now!!!!

Man! I can't believe I'm writing this...Or that it's even happening. I knew it would come, but lost a lot of hope after that last request they made. So writing the embassy a nice letter got an immediate response. Tonight I will send a thank you letter to our immigration officer for reconsidering the request.

So now she will land on May 23rd at Pearson and I will be shaking with joy when I'm waiting for her to finally come into my arms again!

I'm having a drink to celebrate!!!
