I'm really hoping for good news very shortly :) Longway started application process 3 weeks prior to us, got AOR 3 weeks prior to us and the beginning of next week will be 3 weeks since his approval. I hope there are no more delays!

Sooooo...Definitely something happens at 5.5 months from AOR. Today my wife got a letter requesting police certificate from Austrailia. She's racing to get fingerprints now and in addition to this and spending another $105, we have to get a traffic history report (and she never drove there). This is ! @ #$

I can't believe this process, we've been crushed, we will not get MP involved in parallel with applying for this certificate which will take 30 days processing one recieved from AUS gov't. Problem is elections ended just yesterday and in my riding we have a new MP. It's not ideal time to be contacting him at this time :(

I just DON'T understand why they request this now! She only lived there for 3 months and lived in the US and New Zealand much longer than in AUS. So are they going to ask us in 2 months for the New Zealand certificate???

Not a happy camper, racing the clock once again.

Oh Shawn, this is sooooooo frustrating!!! They seem to just want to stall this process as much as possible!!!

These should be asking for these only if she lives 6 months or more:

You must provide Police Certificates for every country including each Republic of the former USSR in which you or your dependants, whether accompanying you to Canada or not, have lived for six months or more since the age of 18.

Thanks for your support Ubernemo,

It is very frusterating and we are very crushed at this time...I can't even explain.

I don't know what they will do for the other countries she's lived in for more time than AUS...Not a good day and tomorrow is her birthday too...Here we were sitting waiting for application approval and BAM...Additional 2 months... I wonder what they will require next?

Hi Shawngt,

Sorry to hear, I think we have the same Immigration officer, your letter from Moscow regarding starting a file is the same we received, a wonder what we can expect yet. We have not had a word from them either, I have just returned from visiting her for 5 months , I was hoping to bring her with me, but no luck there. I am also waiting for the CAIP notes. We will have to hang in there, but it is so frustrating.

Hello all, I am just curious that when does the count time for 8 months begin in Moscow? From the date the application for PR is received or from the date they will be receiving a decision from Quebec and get the CSQ??? Thank you in advance and good luck all!!! ;)

Re: Moscow Application Processing Officeq

Thanks gents for support. The wifie and I have been running around and it's quite expensive after shipping to get everything moving as quickly as possible.

I did call immigration hotline today and all I can do is write email asking if this is error. I will let them know the agony we're going through. We will send application for certificate next week (yes it's that much work to get this out) and start the 40 day or more countdown till we should expect the certificate. Even having a friend who lives in Australia to receive the docs there and send ups to us instead of regular postage.

Feeling a little more optimistic today :)

Fazimy, they start he clock upon receiving, CSQ? I'm not sure how that would impact.

Hi! My wife and I are in the same frustrating situation: PRV app sent last December. CSQ received. TRV refused! Etc.

Possibilities for the 8 months (80% of cases) starting point:

1) date when PRV application is received in Mississauga
2) date when sponsorship approved
3) date when CSQ is given (for Quebec only)
4) date when application is received in Moscow (according to e-CAS and CAIPS/GCMS)
5) date of AOR letter
6) date when Moscow status turns to "in process" and all CAIPS/GCMS steps (ex. Security) turn to "Started"

My guess (it's only a guess): "8 months" starts with #6 but you will only know one month later at best since e-CAS is unreliable and GCMS (formely CAIPS) notes are sent to you ALWAYS 30 days AFTER being generated for internal review (confirmed by ATIP officer). Other possibility is #5 but I'm afraid it is just wishful thinking on our part :(
Hang in there!
