I had a job offer from a company but didn't end up joining them in the end and only got paid for a two hour long seminar which I got paid around $30 for. I only have one job and there is a $30 difference between by NOA and T4 for my current job.

Lawyer said I didn't have to include it as I never did the job in the end. It was a skilled job HOWEVER I only attended the intro seminar (got no tour, training etc.. didnt even work on site).

My personal opinion here would be inline with what your lawyer said - I don't really think it counts as employment for CIC purposes, and I don't think it'll raise any flags on their end.

u better include a written explanation to cic. Any difference in NOA, job letter and T4 will raise a red flag. Try as much as u could to avoid any form of confusion,

I highly doubt this statement as it would be pretty rare for your NOA to exactly match the combination of your job letter and T4s, due not only to timing, but other things that can be included in your income on your tax return. The NOA is used to substantiate your other documents, but differences are going to occur and rationally, this would not be a "red flag" unless your prior year NOA + current pay stubs ends up being substantially less than what your job letter states.

Everything - everything should be included in your background dec. if you received a payment have it as training as xxx for xxx from xxx to xxx.

Omitting something is far worse than including something that happened. Include it and you will have no problems.
