I just saw the first post in this thread. It’s dated Dec 2017 and even then, the complaint was about delays at the Mississauga office.

LOL, nothing has changed in almost five years.

Hi All,

Please provide your inputs. Ours is a family app. My application is in DM status since December 15th 2021. My wife's moved to DM status on 12th Feb 2022. However her background was completed on 22nd Feb 2021.

Given that she is approaching 1 year with background check would IRCC redo the check or as the status is DM, that's not required?

I have been asking for Mississauga applicants to file a public petition to the House of Commons for a pause to all new applications till the backlog is cleared, but no one seems interested. Nothing may come out of the petition, but it will at least highlight that there is an issue which needs to be addressed. IRCC is happy to administer tests even if applicants are outside Canada! What is the big hurry for them? While those of us who have been in the system far longer are being penalized. Thanks to Covid, I am close to 2200 days in Canada; even if they disregard by first 1095 days, I would still qualify!
Since oaths are done online anyways, I think it might be better to ask them to distribute the backlog over other offices that aren't as busy. I don't see why the Mississauga office is dealing with more applications than it can handle. That has been the case from even before COVID. Also, plz don't put the blame on new applicants. We are all in the boat. It's kind of random what applications get processed faster. Also, I don't see why they don't just assign everyone oath dates even if they are really far in the future just to give us that peace of mind that after day x your journey will be over.

No they won’t. It’s almost a closed file with only Oath ceremony and certificate left.

BG check has a validity date. A case has recently been reported here where DM went back to In Process; so it is quite possible tha

PATIENCE is the name of the game :)
Agree but she just got DM couple of days ago, so they must have checked everything before doing so.
