Missed Meds Request but Finally Did Meds

Hi All,

I posted a few weeks ago about missing my meds request for my wife and children.

What happened was this: I got the email with the meds request, but the way it was displayed in my inbox made it look like it was only for my meds. I didn't see the meds request for my wife or children. I know, stupid mistake on my part!!

Following the kind advice of scylla and XpressEnterprise on this board, I emailed the office that is processing my application (the embasssy, I mean) and then I went ahead and got the meds done for my wife and kids. That happened last week. So, I did my meds in May and my dependents did them in August.

I should note that I also sent a CSE to the CIC about my oversight.

Finally, just after finishing the meds, I sent a letter by courier to the office handling my application to explain what had happened and to say that we have now all completed the meds.

I'm worried because just over a week has passed since my dependents did their meds and I have heard nothing back from either the office processing the application or the CIC.

In short, I've emailed the processing office, I sent a CSE to the CIC, and I also sent a letter to the office and I've heard nothing back.

Is there any other way I can get word to them to explain what happened and to ensure that they have indeed received our meds?

Finally, can anyone answer a very newbie question here: Does the fact that they've made the meds request mean that the application is in the final stages of processing?

Thanks again, scylla and ExpressEnterprise!

And thanks to anyone who can offer some advice here.

Hi Northern Voyager,

If you have already sent CSE to your designated VO, then wait for 10 days to get their reply back. Also note that if you miss one deadline for medical, they never refuse you or return your file back. A second warning email/letter would follow if you haven't given your medicals. In your case, you have given medicals already. So, you'll be fine.

Hi XpressEnterprise,

Thank you for the reply!

That is a relief.

A quick follow-up question: Does the fact that they requested meds mean that they are in the final stages of processing my application?

Once they receive the meds, what happens next and how long does it take?

Thanks again!

You're welcome!

This is the Process in a Nutshell (It's just for guidance and your sequence may be bit different):

Stage-1: [CIO stage] Send Initial Apps+Processing Fees to CIO-NS > Qualitative Check > Issue of AOR+120 days Letter >

Stage-2: [CHC stage onwards] Send Full Docs+RPRF to the Local Visa Office > File on Queue > e-Cas: "Received by Visa Office" > Eligibility Check+PSDEC > Issue of 2nd AOR > Background Check > Issue of Additional docs Request [if any] > 1st BF'D > e-Cas: "In Process" > Send Addnl. Docs > Issue of Med Request > 2nd BF'D >

Stage-3: Meds Sent > e-Cas: "Medical Results Recd." > Issue of PPR* > Send Passport/s > Security Check > Visa/s Stamped > e-Cas: "Decision Made" >
*The Meds & PPR are sometimes 'clubbed' together.

Stage-4: Return of 'Stamped' Passport/s+COPR > Landing at the POE > e-Cas: "Completed".Well, kind of. Medical request is sent only after background and security clearance is issued.

Source

After your Background checks (security and criminal) and medicals are received, an immigration officer will review your file before making a final decision. Usually, people get PPR request after month of giving medicals. Once PPR request is issued, you will need to courier your passport to CHC for issuance of visas.

Hi XpressEnterprise,

Thank you for that. That is very useful!

They have received all our medicals, so things are on track.

I appreciate all your good advice and information!
