Minor application based on Parent on study permit

Hi

i will be starting my studies in jan 2020.

i want to apply for minor study permit for 3 kids.

can i apply for them without my spouse on open work permit ?

how long does it takes ?

any experience to share ?

Yes you can apply. They require TRVs although some have now been required to get study permits. You will need to show that you have the extra funds to show that you can support 3 children. Not sure how old your children are but things like daycare or before and/or after school care can be very expensive. Working part-time won’t make sense because childcare would likely consume anything you earn. The main purpose of you being in Canada is for you to be a successful student so you’ll have to show how that will be possible as the single mom with 3 children.

Yes but your family in general will have to show that you have the extra income with just him working to provide for the living costs for 4 people in Toronto, your studies, his living expenses, childcare expenses which will be one of the biggest issue depending on the age of your children. If you have a child in daycare that could be easily 2K per month in some regions. Hard to say when you will hear back. It is quite variable but you have lots of time.
