I filed a PR travel document to have my residency status checked as i have been away from Canada for more than 10years. I was sent a document which talks about relinquishing my pr status.

My question is regarding the "declaration of ministers delegate",there is space provided for the delegate to sign and date,i have to sign and date on the form before the delegate.

Does anyone know who a ministers delegate is?? Can i get it notarized ?

I would appreciate it someone gave me some feedback. Thanks

A "Minister's Delegate" is a "person that has been authorised to act on behalf of the Minister" to perfom some function which the Minister cannot be physically present to do themself. Power of Attorney for letting a subordinate person accomplish specific tasks - if that makes it any clearer.

Each Ministerial Department within Parliament has "designates and delegates".

Depending upon the Ministery and the nature of the document you have in your hand, that person may need to be an immigration officer, OR it may need to be a case review officer.

Either way, you should speak directly with an immigration officer or contact the Ministry that issued your documents without any delay.
