Hi, I applied for Super Visa for my parents in Dec, 2025. My father has worked as govt employee in BSNL, Telecommunocation company, now retired for last 5 years. He never served in Police/Military.

I selected No for all the Military/Police related questions. But selected "Government Position" while giving details about Job, I think I should not have selected this option, as this is only to be selected if person has worked as civil servant, judge, mayor, Member Parliament, hospital administrator or employee of a security organization. I guess selecting this option was mistake on my side.

I received the request in March to provide Military/Police service record details to which I responded that my father never served in Police/Military. Now the application is stuck in background verification process.

Can anyone confirm if selecting "Givernment position" triggered the Police/Military request?

If yes, what should be the next coarse of action, should I withdraw the application and submit again with correct details?

You can write a Letter of Explanation and provide details as much as you could (i.e. your Dad pension id and slips and retirement letter to show he never worked in the military) and update through webform and talk to the customer service and explain the situation.
