I think we sould write each other in English in case some people in the forum can get mad.
I believe you are almost at the end of the process. My husband apply on September, I also did medicals in Guyana December 11 anything since then. I am happy to know I am not along in this process and I can count with a cuban experience.
Did you get any email when your case was transferred to Mexico VO?
thank you

Yes this is only for the ones who are Quebec applicants like me and @patvicto only, since we are waiting for a certificate of Quebec if you are from another province this doesn't apply to you , no worries.

At that pace.. we'll be at CSQ on 2nd week of March maximum

Hello, I'm about to buy a plane ticket for my wife from Peru to Montreal using Copa Airlines for her PR landing. Is there a potential problem at Lima airport if I buy her a one-way ticket? I've heard that since she doesn't have a PR card yet that they might refuse because she is still not actually a resident yet and that she would need a round trip ticket. Would like some opinions. Thanks!
I bought a one way ticket for my wife LIM - YYZ did not have any problem. I'm not sure what you want to day by your wife not having her PR Card yet. Normally PR card is issued once you are in Canada. Is it different fot QC? Anyhow one way ticket was fine for her and I believe it is the case for everybody who have obtain their landed immigrant documents

PR card ? its 3 weeks after entry.. no one have that before , so i don't get why ppl would need a return flight ticket to take a flight to Canada.

As long as your papers are legit and all there... you have your IMMIGRANT VISA as valid ... the local country shouldn't prevents you from taking your flight.

Qc you need CSQ and COPR.

Hey all, I am new here but thought I'd give you my timeline.
My husband is Cuban.
My application received Dec 11 in Sydney Nova Scotia. Sponsorship approved January 5th. Biometrics requested January 5 and done January 21. Were supposed to be done January 20 but computer problems at the Canadian embassy in Cuba delayed it to next day. Received an email January 24th that my file was forwarded to Mexico. It seems to be pretty fast but probably will be delays going forward.
Hoping to get the notice for medical exam soon . Good luck to everyone going through this journey.
Our time lines are similar
Was transferred to mexico VO today

Actually we received our pr cards in exactly 14 days . So it can happen, also my husband and son did not need a return ticket to arrive to land with copr. I called the airline directly and they are familiar with this

We should write an open letter and sign it about our concerns at mexico VO!

I have done 2 sponsorships in the past and they both took well over a year but they had reasons.

I’m going to wait 2 months and if I don’t hear from them I will send new info in. At 8 months I will ask for notes. My MP is pretty amazing so I will at 11 months have then enquire about the process. I have known my spouse for over 10 years. Immigration probably has it documented somewhere that I am close friends with his brother. We are applying for conjugal and have been in a marriage like relationship since 2018. I’m assuming they will want to interview.

My husband's medical expires beginning of March (we're Nov 2018 applicant). Do you think we'll have to redo ours as well?

The Department is currently processing applications received up to:

- October 9, 2019 for a spouse, common-law partner or dependent child;
- November 22, 2019 for other family members.

Crossing fingers is close now to the end for both!
Where did you get this information? Our app was transfered to Mexico and started processing in August.. haven't had any updates since then

yeah but the person was telling about as if you needed the PR card TO take the flight loll... sounded really whatever to me :p as you get that after entering.

Yeah we'll call the airline to be sure too but... that would be totally absurd

My wife's application timeline shows 56 days remaining, yesterday we reached out to our MP to get some information. Hopefully he gets us an answer. For many people it goes to twelve months, they just assume no problems because there is no communication and then boom they are hit with an interview. Some people have been waiting 6 months after transfer to Trinidad for an interview date alone. This really needs to be fixed. Hopefully our MP is able to get us some answers.

@patvicto How long did the MP take to respond to you request for information? What sort of timeline should I be expecting?
