is your wife from Mexico?

Nara. Did they update your wife's online status?

Nope. It shows as 'in process'. I expect DM only when they issue COPR which typically takes 3-5 days for printing and issueing.

Okay. Congrats again, Happy for you!

Aug 15 is when it showed in ECAS as in process. I would say to look at my time lines starting AOR2.

OK. Thank you very much Nara

Hi Nartcr & shaffi.martinez!!!

Hey Nara_ good to hear your getting closer to the finish line. I just wanted to give you both a little update: As soon as I finished my PGR process, my flight to Canada was booked. I've been here with my husband since December 13th. Everything went really well. I had my returned ticket set for February 8th but since I was given a 6 month stay as a visitor, My Immigration consultant contacted IRCC and they are now aware that I am now with my sponsor & my address will be changed to my Canadian address so my COPR can be mailed here and I can finish my process as well. No complains from me during this process..... Things certainly went fast for the 3 of us as I had mentioned at the begging when I joined this forum. I will keep you posted! Best of luck....

Whenever immigration goes to next stage, i.e, the golden email stage, you would be needed to mail in documents like photocopy of your passport, address you intend to stay in Canada, and the mailing address. At that time, you can choose to update the address. You will also provide a prepaid envelope with tracking, so you could track your COPR. good luck.

Means when ecas change to DM the COPR has been issued , cause mine already changed to DM, but how long after they will send the passport back ??

I just got married in Argentina under Argentinian laws or however you call it. I'm Canadian and my wife is from Venezuela. We got married in Buenos Aires, Argentina because the marriage process is a lot quicker and easier than Venezuela. Now i'm looking to sponsor her to Canada.

So in "Get your checklist, forms and instructions" I inputted "I am sponsoring my spouse" of course; "Venezuela" for country of residence; "Argentina" for documents issued by another country; "Mexico" because I believe all of our applications will be sent to Mexico because they're currently representing Embassy of Canada for Venezuela. Hope that makes sense.

In comparison to the very initial post by systemdude, is that all I really need to fill in for myself as the sponsor? Also I'm a little confused on IMM1344. If this form is for the sponsor to fill in why does the principal applicant still need to sign it?

In form IMM5532 Part A SPONSORSHIP EVAULATION AND INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPONSOR. 1. Sponsor's employment history and 5. Address History. What do I write if I'm currently working at the same job? and living in the same house? For example: Dates From (YYYY-MM) to (YYYY-MM) = 2016-11 to_______? Do I write current? Cause I can't put an end date if i'm still working or living there.

I also read that don't leave anything blank and I must put "N/A" in all empty spaces? Is this true?

In form IMM5532 Part B- INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL APPLICANT 2. Do you have any relatives living in Canada? My wife actually have her cousin living in Montreal for quite a long time. I think he has Canadian Citizenship now. Just recently another one of her family member, cousin also just got to canada with work/student VISA. He's also in Montreal now for a year. Do I need to let CIC know that her family members are in Canada now too? They honestly don't communicate that much and would be weird to randomly ask them for personal information. At the same time I don't want to lie to CIC.

For my wife's forms, can i just fill in her forms myself and my wife prints them out. Scan them back to me and I print it and send the package? or does CIC need her exact signature copy and mailed by DHL or courier?

When does CIC actually ask for Police background check and Medical exams? I read other posts that my wife will go to a doctor recognised by CIC to handle her medical exams. Will this be same matter for police background check also? Is my wife going to receive copies of the police check and medical exams and does she need to send them to me by courier and submit it with the whole package? Some posts say CIC will ask for police check and medical exam after the whole application has been submitted. I just don't want her sending me a package with applications all signed and then later need to wait another month or two to receive police check and medical exam forms.

I looked up CIC and I believe they have doctors assigned for Venezuelans to see in Caracas. With the horrible conditions of Venezuela right now and Caracas being one the most dangerous cities in the world and my wife lives in Margarita Island which requires her to fly to Caracas. I know CIC isn't responsible for whatever reason of Venezuela's crisis, is there a possible way CIC will understand the situation and make other arrangements to see a doctor in Margarita Island instead of going Caracas?

Both my wife and I still haven't met each others parents, so we don't have any evidences yet for that. This summer I'm planning to go see my wife for less than two weeks. I know CIC doesn't allow long vacation times when the application is in process. But I'm hoping to this time have the chance to meet my wifes family. Have dinner celebration and take pictures and attach more proof to my case. Is this acceptable?

If we both parties haven't met each other families. Do both families need to have a written letter stating they acknowledge and know about my wife and I relationship and state its true? If so is there a certain template I need to follow? Or can it just be written and signed by both families? Do we need to take it to the lawyer to state the letters are true?

A lot of questions but these are my current concerns. I hope someone can also maybe link me to a post that have more details on how to fill these forms.

Thank you

Calvin.

HI Calvin. I'm Venezuelan too and my spouse is Canadian. We got married in Mexico and field my application last year. We hired a lawyer to do the process. But they filled all the forms and email them to me only the last page to sign them and I mailed them back to Canada. The filed was mailed to Mississauga CPC for the spouse approval once the get toy the SP they mail the file to Mexico VO. You need to fill all the blanks in the forms. As you said put N/A when not applicable to you. Did you download the new application package? Remember since December 15, 2016 there is a new pack for new applicants which is supposed to be less complicated to fill. And sign all the forms that they ask even if they require both signatures otherwise it could delay the process

Hi all – I’ve been offline for a bit (honestly, just frustrated about not hearing anything and needing a break after a year of monitoring ugh!). Has anyone from the Mexico Visa Office heard that they are getting an interview recently?

Apparently we're in the interview queue, but it hasn’t been scheduled yet.

Thanks!
