if you are Mexican there is no need for your actual passport because you don't need Visa anymore .

I'm sponsoring my wife, we received today an email asking for a "copy of the passport" I'm wondering if that means the original passport

Beto,

Was trying to PM for your query. Here are the responses.

a) You would send the xerox copy ( of relevant pages in passport ), along with photos and other documents to CIC Mexico through mail. OB 348 talks about this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob348a.asp

My advice to you is to use reputable courier service.

b) On receiving your documents, CIC would send you COPR document confirming their approval for permanent residence. This will be sent to the address given in PA application forms. Sometimes CIC can ask you to confirm this address.

c) Once your wife receives COPR document in hand, she can take the document, and do the landing procedure. See my signature on landing forms. Please note that some of these forms may change before your wife actually lands.

Friends, I am getting anxious and I need help!

I know that AOR2 from Mexico can be flaky, I get that. BUT, is it still normal that 44 days after SA, the Principal Applicant side on ECAS still has NOT changed to In Process? We are still stuck on Application Received only.
Is it worth making a call to CIC about?

Hi, there is not exact time for that.. some start to process faster and others have to wait longer, you just need to be patient and welcome to the waiting club..

Good Luck. ;D

I think soon you'll get some news. I got SA approval aug 23. And didn't show that it had reached Mexico till end of September even though they started process in Mexico sept 20. And dec 1. They finally sent AOR2 notification by email to my lawyer.

Thank you for that!
I think I'm gonna have to learn to be patient with this! :p

Ok question.....
December 1. We received letter requesting police check, fingerprints and payment.
Now the problem we are encountering is for the police check (PGR). They want a specific letter in Mexico. In the list of documents requested from CIC they say the letter needed would be sent in a separate email same day we received documents request (December 1).

Now, all my correpondence from CIC goes through the lawyer and they haven't recieved anything. Emails have been sent to CIC requesting this letter needed to complete police check in Mexico. Anyone else have this issue with obtaining a police check in Mexico? That you didn't receive needed letter to bring in Order to have police check in Mexico?

Hello, are you applying inside/outside Canada?. Is the P.A. From mexico?? Well I got the same issue, my police certificate was requested from v.o. Mississauga on November 15 but never got the specific letter just an email from the office asking for my police certificate, anyways when I tried to contact Mississauga v.o. they said that probably it was a mistake and I have to wait for indications from México v.o. Since I'm applying from outside Canada And they couldn't help me because my application was already transfered to Mexico, then I contacted v.o. Mexico and they ask me to wait for further indications until they review my application. On December 1 the asked me to renovate my passport and send a copy but nothing about my police certificate so now I'm just waiting, I think you should try to contact them because you can't not get the police certificate without that letter.

Thank you! Ok we're applying from outside of Canada. My husband is in Mexico. My lawyer emailed CIC here. My husband emailed the Mexico visa office. We just did it this past week and waiting for some news. Just frustrating!
