There's a lot of Red Tape & BS when it comes to Visa offices in different parts of the world. After all, Canadians are handling the applications in every country so all of us should be moving just as fast as the May 2016 forum applicants (takes only 4mos) but is not the case, specially other Latin American countries that have to go trough MCVO are taking long! I can't complain about mine, it is going a great speed..... I guess no one will really know the truth behind this process.......patience & optimism.

Best advice I can give everyone in this forum: "Always use Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc. to send your documents to Mexico City........Registered mail is just not going to cut it......Mexico moves at a very different pace than other countries..

Get Pre-arrival help before arriving in Canada and arrive prepared. These services are free ( payed by the Canadian government) Hence the list on IRCC website. Check them out at
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services.asp

For general help you can check out http://nextstopcanada.ca/ . It is the only general settlement service for people who are not in Canada yet and you will find it at the end of the IRCC list I just provided for you. But Check the list. See what will be best for you.

Hello everyone. So about a month ago we got an email requesting Police Check then after an updated Background form. I am wondering how long it takes to get Passport request after that. I contacted my citys MP to contact CIC on our behalf and CIC told them that they are in the very beginning stages and still evaluating our relationship, background checks, etc etc. They have had my application for over 6 months in Mexico City, with a total of 10 months since we first applied...from my understanding waiting for passport request is one of the last stages no?? Correct me if I am wrong? How can CIC say they are in the beginning stages of processing our application especially when our ECAS say decision made?

I would expect 1-3 months after police verification documents are submitted, provided there is no interview stage.

Hi CountryGal, do you request your notes recently?
Maybe they are only giving a quick look at your application to make sure. My notes said that, they need a review again to see if I need a Interview or the PPR, maybe you are in the same boat like us.
I see that January 2016 MCVO has a long wait...
Dont worry, if they request ur police check that is mean they are working in your application, review the spreadshet of Mexico for give you and Idea about your waiting...
