Thanks EVERYONE! and Nreily congrats too!

I remain cautiously optimistic that we will get AOR2 soon. We are excited that stage 2 may have begun! We'll see how this plays out.

My philosophy is; Keep your expectations low so that CIC can easily surpass them! ;) :eek: ;D 8) :p

Speedy Processing!

Congratulations CANzanillo!

Well, I just have one more night in my country because we will leave Thursday 27th to Costa Rica and Friday 28th my flight to Montreal! Wish us luck folks!

Hi everyone! I'm happy to hear that some of you are getting news from Mexico! :D

My passport should be here in Calgary tomorrow, Mexico office sent it on Monday and UPS sent me a notification to my e-mail :D
Now I'm filling in forms for applying to the US visa, our plan is going to Montana and come back to Alberta to do the landing. Traveling is expensive for me because I can't stop in the US and al the cheap options have a stop in the US, also hubby is working so we can go to far...

I'm nervous because they have rejected my visa application two times in the past :( I hope that this time will be different... any advice is welcome!

I let you know as soon as I get my passport in my hands.

That's awesome Lorrein!

Question, I can understand that you would want to obtain an American visitor visa to travel to the U.S., but for the purposes of landing in Canada can you not just do a flagpole landing, without the need for a U.S. visa? I am under the impression that you can do that without needing to have the U.S. visa, though I may be wrong...Drive from Calgary to the U.S. Border, get an administrative denial on the U.S. side, turn around and cross back to Canada and land? Have you looked into this option?

Here's a link with some info;
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t302682.0.html;msg4387834#msg4387834

Here is a reference to NOT needing a U.S. Visa to do a flagpole landing;
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/family-sponsor-landing-urgent-t152581.0.html;msg2347308#msg2347308

It might be prudent to call the U.S. border to confirm that you can flagpole WITHOUT having a U.S. visa.

You should consider timing your landing for early in the morning or late in the evening so that you don't have to wait hours if it is busy. Or try to make an appointment with CBSA at a border crossing with immigration services appropriate for landing.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

FYI, take a few minutes to read this thread regarding the recent change in ECAS status to "In Process" that many (1000's?) applicants have received world-wide in the last couple weeks. Some interesting reading...

More good news! After reading the above noted thread I decided to check ECAS a few minutes ago!

Here is what the ECAS sub items say as of today;

Permanent Residence
We received (your wife's) application for permanent residence on January 19, 2015.
We started processing (your wife's) application on August 10, 2015.
Logout

So, it would appear that they have indeed begun to scrutinize our application in the MCVO!!

Anxiously waiting for AOR2 to confirm

:) :) :)

Wow CANzanillo you always are so efficient :D I'm gonna check out all the info, I'm nervous doing this (Visa or flagpole) :( I don't want to ruin my chances of getting a US visa in the future but also I don't know if I am able to get a visitor visa...

GOOD NEWS! I got my passport today ;D

Guess what! I'm a landed immigrant hehe. Hubby called to US boarder and then they said that was ok to do that. So we went today right away ;D I went to US boarder and they gave me a paper saying that they refused my entry to the country. Then an official scorted us to the Canadian boarder. Everyone there at the offices was really nice and polite with us :)
The officer told me "welcome to Canada now you're a Permanent Resident" and smiled to me. So if you don't want to travel far, going to your closest border is a good option

Congratulations guys! Mine is a March application too, but there is still an error message on ECAS for my application. I am getting very frustrated. Hopefully my file is in process as well. I made a complain to the tech support hopefully they get back to me soon...

Well there you go! Easy Peasy! Congratulations and again Welcome to Canada! Did you have to make an appointment or did they just say " come on down". Which border crossing?

We will likely be driving up so will perhaps use the same crossing?

Thanks!
