He's in! Congratulations.

If you get an account with FedEX, that's the easiest way. The account number is linked to your credit card and won't be charged unless the account is used. Just fill out the return waybill addressed to yourself from the Embassy. Keep a copy of it, so you can have the tracking number and will be able to check when it has been sent (Another thing to obsess over. I had decided not to check it and bam! the FedEX guy was at my door.)

Good luck!
Please save yourself a DHL headache and use FedEx. Apparently DHL employees don't know what they're doing, as a result my husbands passport is all ready to go but is still at the visa office bc DHL didn't put the account number on the airway bill. I sent them the number but the tracking number still hasn't been activated yet.

Going online just wasn't an option for us. I'm in Canada right now and my husband is computer illiterate, also he lives in a super rural area that DHL doesn't deliver to so I'm not sure what we would have put as a return address. I figured it should be no problem, hubby will just go in to the nearest office (about 4 hours to get there) and get them to do it for him. We paid about $170 for the return trip. They told us it would arrive at the VO in 2 days...it took 7. And now the sending has been delayed because of the missing account number. The most important package of our life! I'm so upset and just praying that it gets back to us.

Just a heads up that may be of interest for non-Mexican outland applicants who have requested a police certificate through the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City.

We received our GMCS notes yesterday and there is an email exchange between our VO and Mexico City. The VO asked why is the police check taking so long to arrive and someone at the Mexico office replied that normal processing times for non-Mexican nationals are 30-60 days but that does not apply anymore, as they are awaiting new instructions from the PGR. In one of the emails the officer wrote "none of the outland PCC requests received in the past few months have been processed, we are holding on to them until PGR clarifies the new procedure". This was dated 2nd April.

So if any of you (like me) are waiting on the Mexican PCC, be aware that the wait will be longer than expected

Unfortunately, DHL was our only option but I remembered and revisited all your previous posts about it. I micromanaged everything from Canada and I made sure my husband knew exactly what he should have done so he could spot anything but it seems everything was done according to plan, they should arrive tomorrow (currently in Guatemala). We'll see from there how long it takes and if it doesn't get delayed much. We're hoping he comes on May 28th but I have a feeling that might be a little too optimistic on our part.

Does this refer to people who are waiting for a letter from the embassy asking the PGR to do the check? I don't quite understand. We for example have had the request and the PGR check done. We sent it to the embassy on March 2. Could you clarify please. Thanks.

No, from what I understand it applies to outland applicants who are outside of Mexico and who have already sent the PCC request to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City.

Ok good. For us it has finally been sent as of yesterday morning and we should be able to pick it up on Monday. Finally. If there hadn't been delays and such I think they would have sent it back to us between the third and fourth week after they've received it. So plan for about that long. We are thinking to come home during that week as well but if you've just sent the passport you should maybe look into the first or second week of June. Good luck to you though!

For people requesting that the Mexico City office send the PGR a request for the check?

Thanks. We are wondering what's happening. We sent our PGR check to the embassy on March 2nd and it arrived on the 3rd via DHL. But as someone was mentioning a few weeks ago it looks like the Mexico VO is requesting the PGR at the beginning of the process now and not the end like before. We were all excited thinking that we were going to be approved really quickly but it now looks like that's not the case. We sent that PGR over 2 months ago and haven't heard anything. Such is the process I guess.

So given that Dominican Republic is now being processed in Mexico I figured I'd check out this thread. I'm trying to understand timelines in Mexico. I realized its stated as 18 months versus DR's 14 months, but I'm wondering has any Mexico applicants noticed a trend of timelines particularly with Spousal Sponsorships. Like is it an average of so many months? a year...closer to 18 months?? I guess I'm trying to realistically give myself an idea of when my husband can actually join me in Canada. When application were being done In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic I would see anywhere from 6 to 9 months as a strong average. I felt good about that... now I feel like Mexico will put us closer to a year or more from start to finish. Any thoughts?
We started our process in March.

Congratulations. We SHOULD be next as we sent in our PGR on March 2nd. I say should be with a grain of salt as there doesn't seem to any real way of knowing what's happening. But that's great for you!

Congratulations!!! It seems like the Mexico City VO has finally picked up the pace - many of us have been getting PPR all of a sudden! Fingers crossed that it stays that way for a while. There are still some in this thread who have been waiting for over a year and have not gotten PPR.

Good luck to all!
