Thanks, LeisaP!
Did you send in a cover letter along with the passport and address confirmation? If so could you give me an idea of what you wrote on the letter? Thanks so much :) We are beyond thrilled! We have been waiting for this day for over a year.

Hey!
yeah we sent in a cover letter it looked something like this

Immigration Officer,

Applicants full name
File number
Birth date
Cell number

I have attached the following to this cover letter:

1) Copy of the Passport request letter
2) Valid Passport
3) Address I will be residing at in Canada
4) Current address in Mexico
5) Prepaid Airway Bill

If you have any questions or are missing information please contact me directly on my cell at ****** or on my spouses cell at ******

Thank You
Signature and name

Im not sure if your request asks for more or less of the info I wrote, I know some of the PPRs ask for different things like to confirm current address or not to etc.

So just put the list of whatever they asked you for on there :)
But make sure you put a copy of the PPR on the top!

Great! Thank you. Yeah they just requested the passport, confirmation of his current address in Guatemala, and confirmation of his future address here in Alberta.
As always thanks for your help :)

We got PPR today!
I hope this gives everyone else some hope. Even though there is a "strike" going on it seems as though they are still working on applications. We were requested additional documents on May 28, sent them in the first week of June, and now have FINALLY received PPR. I wish everyone in this forum the best and special thanks to Leisa who has been so hopeful not just with me but with so many other people on this forum :)

Yay thats awesome congratulations !!!! :D :D might I ask why did they make u wait so long ???

Hi Frida,
well we sent in our documents on February 2012 and according to the tracking system it was delivered in Mississauga on February 8. However, for the first 6 months our documents were "misplaced" so it wasn't until 6 months later, in August, that they FINALLY found our application in Ottawa NOT Mississauga. Shortly after our file was sent to Mexico and supposedly on December 20 they sent us an email asking us for additional documents but we never did receive that email. So it wasn't until May 25 (5 months later) that they resent the email and gave us 30 days to send those documents in. Of course we mailed them in within days and fortunately it paid off! It has been a LONG process for us but i'm just so happy that my husband will finally be here!!

Thanks everyone!
But i have a question for those who have sent in their passports already. My husband sent his passport using UPS since neither Fedex nor DHL offer prepaid airway bills from Guatemala to Mexico. In the PPR letter we received it says "Please include your
file number next to your name in order to identify your package as soon as it arrives." The problem is that the UPS person assisting my husband today told him that he could not do that so he had to send the package in WITHOUT being able to put the file number next to his name. Has anyone else encountered this problem before? Do you think it will cause a delay just because his file number isn't next to his name? I mean his file number is written in everything else we sent in....

Hey,
we never put our file number next to the name on the front of the package.
we just put the file number on a folder inside, and than again on the cover letter inside the folder.

but it was never on the outside of the dhl package. that will be fine, they will open it and be able to match it up from the info inside :)

Hi my friends! I got a question If I send my birth certificate without the finger prints it is o.k? because it doesn't have the legend the present document is a certify copy.... which one did u send with finger prints or without? in the case of Mexico thanks a lot I am getting crazy lol

Hopefully it's not too late to answer your question about Québec... I'm from Montréal as well, and when we filled up the application, we left this space blank, and when we printed it we put TBD (To be determined).

The thing is that on the Québec Immigration website ( http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/immigrer-installer/parrains-parraines/demande/demande-engagement/index.html ), they say you can only apply for the CSQ once you are approved as a sponsor from Immigration Canada and you have a letter /email confirming it.

Here is how we did it: We sent in our application to Canada, I got approved as a sponsor a month later. With that letter, you can send in your "undertaking application" (to get the CSQ) and it should take approximately a month to process. 3 months after my sponsorship approval, my husband received his AOR (Acknoledgment of Receipt) and they were requesting the CSQ (we had 30 days to send it). We sent them the copy dedicated to them that Immigration Québec had sent us, and now we are waiting for news....Hopefully the passport request is next!

I still continue with these questions:

1.- What copies do I need certified by the notary?

In the part Inmigration Forms:

IM0008 cuestion 7: Have you received your Certificat de Sélection du Québec (CSQ)?
3.- It is correct if I left unanswered 7c because I have not applied for the CSQ and they ask for the date? I have to write NA or what do I have to do?

In the Additional family information (IMM 5406)
6.- In section A Do I have to sign or not?
7.- In section B If I don't have children I have to write NA?

Please, I need your help! :o :o :o :o :o I am applying for Montreal ;D
