Hello Guys!!!

I do need your help, PLEASE.

My Canadian common-law partner and I (mexican) are gathering all the documentation to be sent to Mississauga.

1. Do I need to have my medical exams done at MEI in Mex City and put them in that file?
2. He is filling out some forms and I am filling Forms: IMM 0008, IMM5669 and IMM 5490 (Are those the right ones?
3. The National Identity Document: Is that the Credencial para Votar IFE or the passport?
4. How many pieces of sheets will be ok to describe our relationship? 2? 3? 4? 9? 10?
5. How should we send our file? Is a binder ok or not?

I will be very grateful to you all for any kind of advice, recommendations, suggestions, whatever info you can provide me.

Thanks a lot in advance.
Orangie :)

Hey, we applied common-law as well.

1) YES, the medical must go with the initial application.
2)Yes I believe those are the right forms, although for some reason only the first one is loading on my computer. so I cant confirm the other two.
3)My husband used his passport AND IFE for the national identity cards, and included photocopies of them in the application
4) As much as you need without being excessive lol. like for us we answered all the questions on the forms and added a couple extra sheets for the questions where there wasn't enough room. Than for our evidence pictures, we made a timeline journal with pictures from when we met until when we sent the app and underneath each pictures was a one sentence description of the event, who is in the picture and when it was.
5) They don't like binders, is what our immigration consultant told us. We just used folders and dividers to organize ours.

Hope this is helpful! :)

Thanks a lot Leisa! Your so nice and friendly! :-* Yeah I was talking about the pictures of couple :) But I still continue with some of my questions :( I think I will sent originals :0

If you send the original Birth certificate and marriage certificate. They will return them to you at the end of the process. My husband sent his original birth certificate and they sent it back to him with his visa and confirmation of PR :)

Thanks!

That's great, I hope you are getting to the end of the process. Would you mind sharing what documents they asked you besides PGR?

Cheers, nice week to everyone :D

Hi
We have all our documents at the Embassy in Mexico City and it is in process of review and has been that way for around 2 months due to that strike. Anyone have any updates? The process is so stressful and with a strike even worse!
Anyone have an idea of how long it is taking to get the final answer, from the point where you submit everything to when they ask for your passport? Thanks!

Hi, my husband has just gone to the Embassy in Mexico City in person to ask about any updates for our process, apparently the strike IS effecting the speed of the process, but they couldn't tell us how much of a delay it will be, we submitted the PGR in Junuary and still no new updates from them, our application was submitted in Aug 2012. It has been 5 months since our status says "In Process" after they received our PGR, I think we are one of the slower ones though... it has been super stressful for us since we thought he would be here in Canada already!

I think we all have big problems with all of this process. My wife sometimes looses the faith and says she will probably never come up here. I want to think positive and know that they have to answer soon. This is not just anything, these are peoples lifes, and so many depend on this process. I wish you all good luck and hope that things go thru quicker.

We have done everything including the PGR letter and some aditional documents we had to refill. The only thing missing I think is that they tell her to send her passport. I want my daughter to start school here in Sept but the delay has been terrible. I pray everynight hoping that she gets a positive email soon. She is very depressed and down with all this process and it is so hard to make her think otherwise being so far away. 18 years of marriage and 3 kids, now, 2 years separated due to this. I also wish you and everyone a lot of luck!
