What's a good rule of thumb about when to contact your MP's office?

Im not really sure, most people wait until either they haven't heard anything for a long time like over 3 months, or they are over average processing time.

but usually they try to send a case specific, if that gives them no leads and its been a long time, than calling the local mp doesn't hurt. they are quite helpful.
all they do is call cic Ottawa and ask what the latest news is on the case,
because everytime the officer does something with ur case he has to put it into the computer system onto your case notes. so the mp can just get the most recent case note entry.

at least u know they are working on ur file cuz they updated ur ecase,
just have to keep waiting for the aor and the police certificate request.

if u want to speed up getting ur police certificate request letter, u can send a dhl prepaid waybill to the embassy and they will mail u back ur police certificate letter via dhl rather than regular mail which could take up to 30 days to receive.

Hi friends

I hope someone knows the answer to this question

My partner in Mexico is trying to obtain police certificate "Procuradurai General de la Replublica "(PGR) It says it will be mailed to him within 30 days (as of April 4) and if not he needs to contact the Embassy (which is fine) It has only been 7 days so Im not panicking yet. Do we just wait and hope he will receive it ? Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

u can wait and hope u receive it,
or u can mail a prepaid dhl waybill to the embassy with a note asking for the pgr request letter sent to u via dhl, and they will usually send another one with ur waybill so u know forsure u will get it and it would arrive faster.

I heard one story of someone getting the pgr letter deliverd by regular mail and they left it on the front step and it rained so the letter got ruined from the rain. yikes!

thanks for the quick reply. Your the best ! Hugs !
