Aww thanks so much!! and you guys got back to me so quickly that's awesome!!...I know the Government is very specific and I just want to make sure I do everything the right way. I'll keep the flight info handy too!
So you think it would be okay for him to get the medical done before getting married?
Also another question...his address exists..he has a home..but...he would never get any mail sent there. Its weird no postal service would ever be able to find his home. I would never even try mailing him anything!...Is this going to be a big problem for him during the process?
p.s Honestly it would make life so much easier if I could move down to Cancun, bring my work, my house, my family and friends!! that would be the best if it were a perfect world! I love Mexico but I just don't have it in me to leave Canada!

I used to think like you...until I spent more time there. Now, I'd only consider visits because of the challenges they face with several things such as security and everyday services. if your cable goes out...good luck for a while, same with electricity or even getting information from government agencies. besides all those things yes, I do love Mexico for their culture and traditions...BUT NOTHING BEATS MY CANADA...not even close! My family comes from a beautiful country in Europe and I'd never go and call it my home! We are priviledged here...clean air, clean water, decent infrastructure, health care, government systems...trust me when I tell you...a vacation is one thing...living there is another!

":I love Mexico but I just don't have it in me to leave Canada!" great choice!

Haha! nothing does beat Canada!...I've been down to Mexico many times and just trying to do paperwork alone can be frustrating and can take forever...nothing is at your fingertips! That's why I mentioned bringing everything and everyone with me!!!

Haha, Mexico is very frusterating to do paperwork with, thats for sure! I heard they are changing the marriage rules and that you wont need permission to marry a Mexican national anymore.. lets see if that actually happens!

as a Canadian citizen, what rights would I get (in Mexico) if I get married to my Mexican partner who I am bringing to Canada ? After everyhting ive been through, Im about ready to retire to Mexico !

What do you mean by rights?

lets see if they do!! it would be great if they did before the winter save us some extra paperwork!!
I also heard that there will be discussion in late November about getting rid of the visa requirement...how many attempts have been made so far though?!

That would be awesome but I doubt it! :(

a question to anyone that can answer...do they normally process files in bunches...as in several people should receive info at approximately the same time?

We are still waiting for our ARC request. Tomorrow will be 10 weeks since we put in the PGR (Sept 6th) :( we sent a case specific enquiry Oct 17 with a standard/generic response received Oct 30. I’ve ordered our case notes now. Anything else I can do should I send another case specific enquiry or just keep waiting? Any thoughts?

btw...how do I get that tracer people seem to have?

Hello,

I just received an email from CIC requesting my passport, but I have one question they mention that the visa will expeire on 12/03/2013.

Does it means the PR is only valid on 2013?

After I send my passport what is the next step?

Thanks for your help..

No, That just means you must Land (officially enter Canada) by that date.

After you send your passport (or take it personally to visa office) they will put the PR visa in your passport and cancel your TRV (temp or tourist visa if you have one). They will also give you a paper called a COPR that you will need to give to CBSA when you land.

Then you go to Canada and officially "land" and start your new life ....

I remember someone talking about a free computer program to learn English - i think. Anyone know what I am talking about? My MIL wants to work on her English. Rosetta Stone is so expensive! Thanks!

it may be a better idea to keep her from communicating with you...that way you will never get into a fight...hahaha...just kidding!
