I don't know about Mexico but I know other PRs from non visa exempt countries have not had any problems. It would make sense.. if he's a canadian resident.. why would he stay in the US illegally?? :)

yeah!, because i have heard even with PR, he still needs to use his mexican passport to get a visitor visa for usa, but you would think it would be much easier!,

lol true, anyone knows if you have canadian residence why would you wanna live in USA!! lol.

thats good!, because we will be living in vancouver and its so close to the border so itll be nice if the visitor visa is much easier to get. :)

Yeah we're going to try for a US Visitor Visa as well after he comes here.

I would think unless they have over-stayed a visa previously in the US they wouldnt have a problem getting a non-immigrant visa for under 90 days.

Hopefully, he's never been to the US so I think it should be fine. How is everything going with you? You're not around as much :)

yeah that would make sense, my husband got a visa from the usa about 4 years ago for a work training program, but never ended up using the visa, so im sure this would help getting a new one.
:)

Meh, we are in such a standstill I have nothing to report, we are having serious financial difficulties getting the medicals done in the time period allowed, so we are trying to make the hard decision to sign the declaration declaring his daughters not part of the family class or just letting our app get denied till we can afford things. If I didnt have a divorce trial happening simultaniously we would be fine but divorce comes with a hefty hefty bill, especially with 4 days of trial. Unfortunately we did not forsee this when we initially applied. So I am feeling very frusturated, irratated and overwelmed with a bit of saddness. I am heading to my hometown today to see my sisters new baby, so I am focusing on that excitment and hoping things are cleared up by the time I get back, its completely out of my control at this point.

I'm so sorry. I know this process is a huge financial undertaking. It's been stressful enough on us, and there are no children or bastard ex husbands involved :) are you able to get an extension ?

Ok, should we be getting excited....I just checked the ECAS site, once I entered the page for the update, instead of saying APPLICATION RECEIVED for the permanent Residence, it now says IN PROCESS....the interview was already in March etc....anyone else had this update on theirs???

Sorry to hear about your troubles, missmymexi. I know it must be overwhelming. Remember, this too shall pass! And congrats on the newborn baby. =) Those are always a blessing to a family.

Oh that´s gotta be a good sign! Ours was changed to in process while we were waiting for them to send the letter to get the PGR!

Did your son-in-law already submit his police checks?

Oooh this is very good! We actually got in process after PPR....so you are very very close.

When did you guys know the medicals were received?

My eCas has always been very consistent. It shows "in process" and gives me the date when they received my application, the date they started processing it and it says my medical results have been received.

Nothing new for the past 3 months though ::)

Do you remember when it showed that about your medicals? When it went in process ?
