We FINALLY have hubby's passport in our hot little hands!!! :o We had an issue with FedEx (they claimed that they tried to deliver it but no one ever rang the bell) but we were able to go to the depot and pick it up. We are so grateful, relieved and happy. Now, it's time to move on to next adventure: crossing the border.

Awesome!! congrats!! ;D

Oh okay great!, thanks he was just wondering :)
thats interesting, i didnt know sonora beat juarez.
Ive been trying to follow the drug war since it started, it interests me, mostly because its something so different than in Canada. Im also a news nut, i read the news a few times a day lol.

ah speaking of dangerous!, my husbands brother went to a party last week and when he was leaving he got assaulted by 2 guys, poor kid.. but thats not the worst, now my husbands mom called and said one of her employees couldnt come to work today because he was assaulted and they beat him so bad he almost lost one of his eyes!!, and Puebla is suppose to be a safe city!! yikes :(

Yeah no one is exempt from things like those :( oddly enough nothing has (thankfully) ever happened to my family, my dad lived all his life in this country without a problem, he goes to Canada and has his car broken into, they stole his stereo and amplifiers. ¬_¬

Yeah, Its really hit or miss, some people have absolutly no problems and others get stuck in them even when they are stearing clear of anything that could get them into a bad situation.. its sad.
Awe poor guy thats really unfortunate! :(

Thank you Edgar! We were thinking about landing this Friday. We have to tie up some loose ends here in the States and then cross the border. We are so excited to start our new life together in Canada. After living so many years as an undocumented person and living "en las sombras" in the U.S., my husband is looking forward to becoming part of Canadian society and being counted as a contributing member.

Ya hoo!! Time to land!!

Dont worry about the liberada. The people at the Military office just explained to us in Feb that when its time to go and pick up your marble, send a family member and have them tell them that you no longer live in Mexico so you obviously cannot do the service. I wouldn't worry to much about the Military, in my honest opinion. Technically I think the rules is once you even have a precartilla you need to ask the military permission to leave the country!! Lol. There are a lot of rules in Mexico, but we all know how it is. Dont stress it, trust me :)

Ok, we're still waiting to get the letter from the embassy. No action on the waybill yet.

It will be soon! How long does it usually take once you send the waybill?
