Well i have never heard of this being asked for, and i know quite a few mexicans with PR.
I guess if it comes down to it we will figure that out when we get there, I think no point worrying about it to much if I personally dont have any evidence of this being asked for. but if worst comes to worst we will cross that bridge when we get to it :D

p.s you said your husband is 31 right, how long ago was he asked to pick his ball?

Yes!! agreed!

Hahaha!! im gunna tell him you are both protesting cic with facial hair! lol im sure he will get a kick out of that.
but his sideburns are gone!!! the army made him shave them! (apparently they care about your hair but not your education... ) but dont you worry he will be growing them back and longer just to prove a point! ;)

My husband grew up in martinez de la torre, veracruz and he saw some pretty sad stuff with the army/navy aswell.
we noticed that over the past 5 years or so, things have gotten a bit better, but not alot. My husband likes the military just not mexicos, he wouldnt mind joining the canadian armed forces though. :)

I like the Canadian forces, it's the Mexican one that I have a problem with. :)

Yes Tijuana is much safer now. I went there in January and it's back to how it was before this whole war started.

I am, but like I said, the odds are so low that getting worried about it is bordering on paranoia, and this is coming from the most paranoid guy in this forum.

Let's say they ask for it. I complain and ask the reason for which they're asking for it. They gotta have a good one, just like they gave me a reason when they asked me to provide the FBI police clearance, then I tell them the situation and let them know that I'm not willing to wait another year to be reunited with my wife because they decide to ask me for a document that no one else needs to get. If they don't bend then I reorganize, tell my wife and make a scene. I'm sure CTV news would love to have a story on mistreatment of applicants, inconsistency and discrimination (everything is discrimination nowadays!), plus I take this matter to the Immigration Appeal Division.

He picked his ball at 20. Ok, edgar if I protest at the Canadian embassy, in mexico, againt the treatment of applicants, if I get arrested do I still go to a Mexican jail?? :)

Ok, I won't worry for now!

LOL! No, they will just deport you, but I'll protest for you :D

That is true by the way, foreigners who hold protests in Mexico are subject to deportation :o

Chihuahua is SAFER than how it was a couple of years, but if he's wondering if they're still decapitating people, then the answer is no, the war is officially over, the Sonora Cartel appears to have beaten the Juarez Cartel, so they've taken control over the crossing point, which calms things down. Remember there's always been cartels, the fighting started because they started to compete for different "plazas"

Funny, I met an American here who was living illegally in Mexico City! LOL! We became friends and you know I had a lot to say to him about the whole situation. :P

It's better to keep a low profile as a foreigner when it comes to those things. Especially since you stand out like a sore thumb for being "wera". My wife blends in a bit more because she's native, but even like that we play it safe.

Yeah i feel like i stick out like a sore thumb!! haha, i love when we go into tourist areas where I see white people and asians, makes me feel at home haha :P

We FINALLY have hubby's passport in our hot little hands!!! :o We had an issue with FedEx (they claimed that they tried to deliver it but no one ever rang the bell) but we were able to go to the depot and pick it up. We are so grateful, relieved and happy. Now, it's time to move on to next adventure: crossing the border.
